Bahrain's two young rising stars of the motorsport world - Shaikh Salman bin Rashid and Hamad Al Fardan (pictured right) - are the latest drivers to be driving in this weekend's Desert 400 V8 Supercars Championship race programme.
The two Bahrainis who have made their names this year in the fiercely competitive British Formula Three Championship will be driving the thunderous all American V8 monster Speedcars.
Salman bin Rashid and Hamed Fardan will be in famous company when they take to the track.
Indian motorsport legend Narain Karthikeyan landed in Bahrain on Monday morning and was taken straight from the airport to a function with over 2,000 school children at the Indian School in Isa Town. Karthikeyan who is no stranger to Bahrain, having raced here in the 2005 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix for the Jordan team, was a huge hit with the children who had turned out in force to welcome their favourite sporting star to the kingdom.
