It's not just chocolate powder that Bahrain hotels run out of. One of the Whisperer's acquaintances went to one hotel's business centre and asked for a document to be photo-copied. The reply: "Sorry the photo-copier has run out of ink!" He asked, haven't you ordered a replenishment stock yet? Yes, replied the assistant, this was done over a month ago but the management haven't paid their supplier's outstanding stationary bill yet.
Isn't it always a remarkable coincidence that "the cheque" is always in the post?
THE Whisperer is aware that parking places are at a premium in Bahrain but this may be taking things to the extreme. The poor driver, who I hope was wearing a seat belt at the time, ended up in a 'hole' lot of trouble and I don't think it would have made the slightest bit of difference if he had tried reversing into the space on the Budaiya Highway.
