WEDNESDAY (Dec 26)Film - The Alamo on Star Movies at 8.30pm

Starring Dennis Quaid, Billy Bob Thornton and Emilio Echevarr’a; directed by John Lee Hancock.

From Oscar-winning producers Mark Johnson and Ron Howard comes the dramatic true story of one of the most momentous battles in American history. Film - The Ladykillers on Star Movies at 8.30pm

Starring Tom Hanks, Irma P Hall and Marlon Wayans; directed by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen.

This is the tale of Goldthwait Higginson Dorr III, PhD (Tom Hanks), a charlatan professor who assembles a gang of thieves for the heist of the century.

After convincing an unsuspecting, church-going old lady (Irma Hall) that the quintet needs a place to practice its church music, Dorr is offered the root cellar. However, it becomes evident that the boys lack the mental capacity to do the job... and they've underestimated their upstairs host.

Film - Wedding Crasher on Super Movies at 7pm

This is a great comedy starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as two best friends and colleagues in divorce mediation who spend the wedding season crashing weddings to meet women, by pretending to be distant relatives. It all goes amiss when John (Wilson) falls in love with a bridesmaid and Jeremy (Vaughn) sleeps with the virgin daughter of the US Treasury Secretary (played by Christopher Walken) and the two are invited to spend the weekend with the family.

Film - The Manchurian Candidate on MBC2 at 9pm

Starring Denzel Washington as war veteran Bennett Marco, this film tells the story of a man who begins to doubt what really happened in an ambush during the first Gulf War. When his rescuer, Sergeant Raymond Shaw (Liev Schreiber), eventually becomes a Vice-Presidential candidate - pushed on by his mother Senator Eleanor Shaw (Meryl Streep) - Bennett tries to uncover the truth behind what really happened while some very powerful people at the Manchurian Global Corporation try their hardest to stop him.

A convict agrees to go undercover and gather evidence on a notorious crime lord Jimmy Kilmartin (David Caruso) in order to win an early release from prison. Torn between his desire to win freedom for the sake of his family and his belief in the code of honour among thieves he is plagued with inner torment. His misgivings are compounded by fear when he learns that his target is the notorious Little Junior (Nicolas Cage), a violent eccentric with a hair-trigger temper. Luckily for Jimmy though, Junior takes a shine to him, welcoming him into his inner circle.
