RIFFA VIEWS is aiming to create Bahrain's most prestigious residential development by reaching out across the kingdom and providing a long-

lasting legacy of community involvement.

The strategy is simple: the island's new community will not be restricted within the boundaries of its three distinct signature estates - The Oasis, The Lagoons and The Park.

Richard Browning, chief executive officer, said: "We have sponsored many community and sporting events aligned to the Riffa Views' vision as part of our commitment to the society and to the

development of Bahrain as a whole.

"This, however, is only the beginning and we intend to continue our programme of community initiatives to contribute to the future of Bahrain and its people - a future which is looking very bright indeed."

The Riffa Views development is occupying 28 million square feet, 78 per cent of which will be open space, boasting an 18-hole Colin Montgomerie-designed golf course; a tennis facility in association with Boris Becker, alongside other leisure facilities, shopping and an international school.

A large proportion of the development's marketing campaign has been directed through sponsorship of community and sporting events and GulfWeekly looks at some of the ways Riffa Views has recently touched the lives of people living in Bahrain.

Open house

Riffa Views invited Bahrain to an exciting three-day open house event to celebrate its success and the official release of the Park Estate.

More than 3,000 visitors received first-hand information on the project's luxury elements. Families received a picnic basket with complementary refreshments and enjoyed the outdoor picnic area where exciting activities took place such as mini golf, camel and pony rides, face painting for children, henna and music.

They also experienced the Riffa Views TV at the on-site studio where some visitors were lucky winners of a Riffa Views iPod on which they can watch the Riffa Views TV series.

"We want to share the success of Riffa Views with the public and this three-day event offered something for everyone to enjoy. It allowed us to showcase not only the Park Estate for the first time to the general public, but also all the elements of our project which will provide a luxurious lifestyle for residents," said Mr Browning.

Golf

Riffa Views was the Diamond Sponsor of the AMH Island Classic golf tournament.

As part of its sponsorship, Riffa Views presented a donation to assist the purchase of new medical equipment which will further improve and upgrade the hospital's medical services, enhancing the excellent standard to care provided by the staff of American Mission Hospital.

"Riffa Views is proud of its commitment to the 11th AMH Island Classic, held under the patronage of His Majesty the King, Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at his private golf course.

"Last year we were Platinum Sponsors and this year we reinforced our support by becoming Diamond Sponsors. The event is one of our many commitments to the society and we are proud to support AMH's efforts to provide quality healthcare to the people of Bahrain," said Richard Browning, CEO of Riffa Views.

AS part of its title sponsorship for the second year running of the "Riffa Views Shaikh Faisal Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Memorial Trophy" and in support of the Bahrain Mobility International (BMI), Riffa Views donated a specialist wheelchair to Ahmed Jaffar, a young adult with special needs.

Riffa Views' commitment to this charitable cause is in line with its long-term objective to encourage the youth of Bahrain in sports, education and social development. Mr Browning said: "Although the Riffa Views Shaikh Faisal Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Memorial Trophy is based around a golf event, I am sure that many companies and individuals would wish to add their support, even if they do not participate in golf."

Tennis

Following the success of last year's "Riffa Views Cup Asian 14/U Tennis Series" tournament, Riffa Views took its commitment several steps further by not only title sponsoring the Riffa Views Cup but also the Riffa Views Asian 14/U Championships, the series' end of season flagship event.

Riffa Views' sponsorship of both tournaments is part of its wider commitment to the kingdom; a commitment that it intends to leave as a long-term legacy both by encouraging 'grass roots' tennis to grow and by attracting a sustainable international sporting presence to Bahrain.

Seventy-four private and government schools in Bahrain registered to participate in the "Riffa Views Eden Challenge".

With a total of 138 entries in the five relevant categories this competition is a superb vehicle to reach out to the local community by way of an educational and environmental initiative. This competition involves children from six to 18 years and the winning entries will be displayed at the Riffa Views Bahrain International Garden Show (RVBIGS) 2008.

Entries were judged in three of the competition's five categories and Riffa Views' Signature Ambassador, Chris Beardshaw, the award-winning designer and BBC TV presenter was the chairman of the judges.

"We set the children a real challenge through our briefing document and without exception they exceeded our expectations.

"It was a real joy and privilege to see the passion and level of involvement the children had put into their entries and to be involved in the judging process," said Chris Beardshaw.
