¥ The Bahrain National Museum is showcasing the works of nearly 50 Bahraini artists and sculptors. This is the 34th year of the exhibition that is categorised into sculpture, installations and paintings displaying abstract and semi abstract artworks as well as contemporary sculptures. ¥ 'Females in the Media' forum will be held at the Movenpick Hotel in Muharraq today. The two-day event that opened yesterday, will feature workshops. An exhibition is also being held which will showcase the achievements of Bahraini women in the media. Two workshops will be held in the morning at 9am and 11.30am and three in the evening at 4pm, 5.30pm and 6.25pm. The closing ceremony will be held at 7.20pm followed by dinner at 8pm. Entry is free. ¥ Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya is showcasing paintings of artist Mohammad Omer Khalil in a solo exhibition. Khalil's work has been influenced by his travels and his life in New York. In his paintings Khalil creates a unique style, like a mosaic, from symbols that include postage stamps, textiles, photography, crushed cans and other little objects. For details contact 17717707.

¥ The Bahrain Women's Society is holding a series of workshops and programmes, daily this month, to raise awareness on protecting children and teenagers from abuse. Topics like 'How can you detect abusive relationships?' and 'The relationship between domestic violence and child abuse' will be discussed. The workshop is open for all school children. ¥ The Bahrain Arts Society in Budaiya is holding special workshops for adults and children.
