GULFWEEKLY's agony aunt Betsy mathieson, the incoming president of the Rotary Club of Manama, has announced the positions allocated to her board, at a preliminary board meeting held at the Gulf Hotel this week.
"It is my intention to build on the excellent work of the current board and bring Rotary more into our community to help where it is most needed and promote Rotary values of 'Service Above Self', provide humanitarian services and help build goodwill and peace in our kingdom and around the world," said Betsy, who takes over the reins officially on July 1 when the new Rotary Year of Office begins worldwide.
Board positions are: secretary, Robert Ainey, treasurer Waleed Al Rayees, director of vocational Dr Mustapha Sayeed, director of international, Majeed Shafei, community services director, Othman Janahi, sergeant-at-arms, Ali Birch, club services, Hadi Al Alawi, general services, Noor Al Shubar and fund raising, Captain Peter Groenberg.
The Rotary Club of Manama meets every Sunday at 12.45pm for 1.15pm at the Gulf Hotel.
