MSD targets trendy men

Siyaram Silk Mills, a name to be reckoned with in the world of men's fashion, has opened its first Siyaram MSD outlet in Bahrain.

The company is making this first foray into specialised retailing overseas through an exclusive franchise agreement with the Al Jazira Group.

To mark this occasion, a grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Sadiq Dawani, managing director Al Jazira Group and Kishan Poddar, export director of Siyaram's Group and S P Shah, senior president of marketing at Siyarams.

Siyaram's MSD (an acronym of Monday to Sunday Dressing) collection is a complete range of garments and accessories catering to the lifestyle, aspirations and tastes of the young urban male.

With a guiding philosophy of - One Man, One Brand, Many Moods, and Many Occasions - the Siyaram's MSD brand has an offering that it says is multi-faceted and diverse.

Targeted at a core segment of 20-35 year olds, the range will comprise formal, semi-formal, casual and club wear.

"The MSD brand has three distinct advantages over any other brand from the Indian market - a 30,000 strong distribution network of Siyaram, fabric expertise of Siyaram that ensures quality and value for the consumer and the brand equity of the Siyaram's brand," a company spokesman said.

"Siyaram's MSD is targeted at today's youth and aims to provide its customers, good quality at affordable prices."

The brand ambassador is the young and dashing Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, whose initials also match the brand's name.

Siyaram is part of the Siyaram Poddar Group which is one of the oldest business houses in India.

It was founded in 1978 and is headed by Ramesh Poddar, vice-chairman and managing director.
