¥ British soul-band 'The Christians' will perform at the Upstairs Downstairs restaurant in Adliya. The band, formed in 1985, were one of a number of soul-influenced groups in the 1980s that had strong links to UK punk rock, new wave and post-punk music.
The band's current line-up comprises Garry Christian on vocals, Jay Ankrah on acoustic guitar and backing vocals, Stewart Boyle on guitar, Bobby Kewley on bass, and Jay Iving on drums. ¥ The Royal Society of St George will hold its annual English Family Picnic at the Riffa Views Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Saar from 1pm. Meet DJ and MC Krazy Kevin, the Bahrain Police Marching Band, the Dilmun Dixielanders and the Chaoss gymnasts. Guests can buy a picnic or barbecued fast food from the club's outdoor buffet and refreshments will also be on sale. A competition for the entire family will be the main attraction - 'The Easter Bonnet Parade'. With a little home craft before the event, entrants can win prizes including a draw for two three-day tickets for this year's Bahrain Gulf Air F1 Grand Prix.
Other attractions will be a visit from the Easter Bunny, Delmo and Delma the Lost Paradise of Dilmun mascots, the 2Connect team and fun activities for children including an Easter egg hunt, magic show, bouncy castle, balloon twister and goodies such as face painting, henna, candy floss, popcorn and snow cones.
