THE Lost Paradise of Dilmun water park officially opens its doors for the 2008 season tomorrow ... and this year it's cheaper for kids!
Fun-lovers will be able to once more blast their way through tube slides, catch a wave in the region's largest wave pool, float down the Paradise River past gushing waterfalls and exploding fountains and plunge down mega Body Slides.
"The 14 rides and attractions are ready and the staff can't wait to fling open the doors and welcome guests to the oasis of fun for everyone right here in Bahrain," said Paul Blunt, general manager.
Bahrain's $50 million Lost Paradise of Dilmun, the Middle East's largest water theme park, opened last September.
Set in 77,000 sq m of desert oasis, Lost Paradise features some of the world's fastest, newest slides, pools and fountains.
Taking its theme from Bahrain's rich cultural heritage - the kingdom was the centre of the ancient Dilmun empire more than 5,000 years ago - Lost Paradise and the adjacent five-star Banyan Tree Desert Spa and Resort are the first components in the $1.3 billion Al Areen Development.
The creators believe that whatever your age or mood there is something to please everyone at the Lost Paradise of Dilmun.
Thrill seekers will enjoy the tumble and spinning effect of the Boomerango and Superbowl, while those with a need for speed can take off on the Speed Slides and Body Slides.
Young children have a whole new world to explore with dancing fountains, a 'wet and wild' Rain Fortress, as well as a Tot's Pool - perfect for little ones to enjoy the refreshing water with gentle slides and a wading pool.
Families can hit the wild water of the Tylosplash - the park's tallest attraction, splash about in the waves on Dilmun Beach, take a more leisurely trip down the Paradise River, or just relax in the Spa Pool or Oasis Pool.
A day full of fun will cost guests over 1.2m in height BD13 while visitors under 1.2m pay just BD5 - a BD3 reduction from 2007.
"The new rates for 2008 offer great value for money as there is so much to keep everyone entertained. With unlimited access to all the rides and attractions, families, kids, and adrenalin seekers will be entertained for hours," added Paul Blunt.
"The Lost Paradise of Dilmun is the perfect place to cool down as the temperature goes up with summer approaching. Whether in or out of the water there are plenty of shady spots to relax and enjoy a great day out. When you are feeling hungry there are eight outlets spread around the park serving refreshing drinks, healthy juices, snacks and BBQ food."
The operating hours for March to May are 10am to 5pm.
The park will open six days a week, and close every Tuesday except on school and public holidays.
