MYSTERY surrounds interior designer Ivana Trump and the Darvesh Group's plans to build a multi-million dinar twin tower commercial and residential project called Le Diamond.
The project will NOT be part of the Bahrain Bay development as earlier suggested by the partners during a recent flying visit to the kingdom by the celebrity and the group's executives.
A spokesman for Bahrain Bay Development, said: "We have never dealt with her organisation and there is certainly no intention of her building any tower within our development."
Property experts have suggested another of the island's prestigious projects may be the port for the high-profile American multi-millionairess and her partners.
When GulfWeekly asked whether the Le Diamond Project would be located in Bahrain Financial Harbour it received a swift, tight-lipped response.
"We apologise to inform you that we are unable to declare such information," said Salwan Uchi, senior manager leasing, sales and marketing of Bahrain Financial Harbour.
The Darvesh Group says it will construct the residential and commercial twin towers designed by Ivana in cities around the world, including Dubai and the Indian capital, New Delhi.
The Le Diamond project is part of Darvesh Group's $6 billion strategy to create 10 branded development-themed projects through partnerships with well-known personalities from the business, fashion and movie industry.
Ahsan Darvesh said: "I can't give you any information at the moment as the joint partners haven't made a decision yet. At the moment the location in Bahrain is confidential but we will disclose this information once everything is finalised."
However, Dallas-based JMJ Hospitality has been named developer and brand manager for the Le Diamond Ivana Trump projects. JMJ says it is partnering with Dubai-based Darvesh Group to bring the project to Bahrain, with construction beginning in 2009.
Ivana, 59, could not be contacted. She is busy preparing for her wedding to 35-year-old Italian actor and model Rossana Rubicondi on April 12.
