Mšvenpick Hotel Bahrain has been celebrating this week after being awarded a top hospitality industry award.
The highly sought after Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification is a global systematic preventive approach to food safety and is used at all stages of food production and preparation processes, including packaging and distribution.
HACCP focuses on identifying and preventing hazards from contaminating food, allows necessary records for audits that check compliance with food safety laws over a period and places the responsibility for ensuring food safety.
Mšvenpick Bahrain applied for the certification last December after the final audit by URS, a well-known independent third party body based in the UK that offers HACCP certification and many such qualifications.
Last week the hotel received the accolade. Elias Moukarzel, F&B manager, Mšvenpick Bahrain said: "This is certainly an achievement to be proud of. The F&B team has worked hard and undergone many training sessions towards the implementation of the various requirements for the HACCP."
Mšvenpick Bahrain general manager Jan Kaiser added: "The HACCP is a prerequisite in the hospitality industry and to be awarded with it is truly a worthy accomplishment. Guest satisfaction and hygiene are two important aspects of our hotel's service and this certification is another step in that direction."
