All eyes will be locked on the international Speedcar Series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as former Formula One champs including Jacques Villeneuve hit the track.

Whilst the 11 teams and 22 drivers of the Gulf Air Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix hit the track for a bout of intense competition, the support races will see the Speedcar racers go head-to-head at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Some of the familiar faces to be spotted on the track. Among them will be former F1 drivers including French Jean Alesi, Brit Johnny Herbert - who stood as Michael Schumacher's team mate aboard the Benetton team in the 90s - as well as Gianni Morbidelli and the legendary Villeneuve.

In 1997 Canadian Villeneuve won the 1997 World Championship having only been in two F1 seasons. His achievements span across 165 races, 11 wins and 23 podium finishes over a decade.

Villeneuve will race aboard the Speedcar Series in the final two rounds of the championship. He will first be seen on the grid at the BIC, and later at the Dubai Autodrome on April 11-12.
