The demand for aesthetic surgery among men has been steadily increasing all over the Middle East and certainly in Bahrain where locals and expatriates of all ages visit specialist clinics around the kingdom for a nip, tuck and sometimes a bit more.
'Men come for exactly the same reasons as women: self-improvement and to look fresher and better with age.
'For some a high-profile job demands a certain look which they want to maintain so they seek surgery for it and for others it is a question of it helping them get a better position or simply social acceptability,' said Dr Dean Cunha-Gomes, plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon at Bahrain Specialist Hospital.
