Ever since I was moved to the midday show people are always saying: "I bet it feels great to get a lie-in and some extra sleep these days".

I answer with three little words, "Hannah Ruby Howarth"; my gorgeous, lively, vivacious four-year-old daughter.

You see, when I was first switched it was such a novelty for Hannah to see me at home in the mornings that she jumped all over me as soon as she woke up at around 6.30am. If my eyes didn't want to open she would bounce on the bed until they did. Still, 6.30am was one-and-a-half hours later than I was used to getting up, so it felt pretty good really.

Wendy still drives Hannah to school at Little Gems most days. Except for yesterday when Hannah asked me to take her especially. How could I say no?

When we arrived we got a big surprise because her picture was on the wall and she was the official 'Star Student of the Week'.

All the dads reading this will appreciate how my old heart skipped a couple of beats and I got all misty eyed. Aaww!

As I drove home reflecting on how lucky I am to have such a great kid and how blessed we parents are, I saw something that chilled me to the bone; a little girl standing on the front passenger seat whilst being driven by a lady who I can only presume was her mother.

What cracks me up is that the car was a big 4 x 4. If her family can afford one of those how can the parents not afford the price of a child seat to protect this most precious life.

On countless occasions I have stopped at traffic lights and looked to my left or right and seen small children standing unrestrained and unprotected in all sorts of dangerous positions in cars. Once, I even saw a little boy lying on the dashboard!

There's been a lot of discussion about parental negligence in the media lately. Well, I say that parents who don't strap their kids in safely when driving in cars are negligent too, as are all the traffic police who drive past them and do nothing about it.

Please mums and dads, make sure that everyone in your family is wearing a seatbelt. It's a proven fact that seatbelts save lives! As it happens, this week on the Midday Madness Show I am doing a quiz with DHL and we are giving away child safety seats.

I hope we give away plenty. In fact, we are going Quiz Krazy on the show with lots of great giveaways courtesy of V-Kool and the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park. So be listening from 1.30pm to win.

Earlier this week I recorded a couple of my Music Mania TV shows down at Adhari Park. This is the kingdom's biggest amusement complex and what a good time I had.

The downside was that the day we chose to film was the hottest so far this year with quite above normal temperatures. Goodness! I sound like a weather reporter.

Whilst at the park, I interviewed a funny guy called Hussain for one of the features on the TV show; the 60-second challenge, whilst going round and up and over on one of the rides. It was certainly great fun and it was just a bit scary too.

They have dodgem cars there and I had a good go. Thank goodness they have seatbelts because the other people driving thought the name of the ride was "Hit 'Em" not "Dodge 'Em".

It got me to thinking that perhaps we could arrange a day out for all those people who think that seatbelts don't make much difference. They could try riding a dodgem with and without a seatbelt. If they're still not sure they could try again with a glass vase on their lap (in lieu of a small child).

When I had my ride there were numerous unavoidable bangs and afterwards I enquired about where the brakes were because I certainly couldn't find them. In reply I was told that there wasn't any!

The Park is filled with lots of different rides for kids of all ages - just like me! At the end of two hours running all over the place I looked like I had a bucket of water thrown over me, and when I got home I must have drunk about two litres of water I was so thirsty.

On the way home I spotted two kids hanging out of the windows of their dad's car as he flew through the roundabout. I'd been wondering what I would write about this week and suddenly I just knew. Now it's just about time for me to get off my soapbox. But before I do, can I just ask that motorists all try a little bit harder to keep their children safe.

Keep happy and keep kids safe,

Krazy Kevin
