Bahrain-based Nomas Enterprises has signed an agreement with Atkins, appointing the company as architectural designers and engineering consultants for its first real estate project. The signing ceremony took place at the Nomas Enterprises office in Sheraton Complex.
With a paid up capital of approximately $800 million, the development occupies an area of over 35,000 square metres.
The four-tower project is located in Juffair and will be a mixed-use development. The property will be a premium site with an expansive waterfront and has an expected completion date of around 2012.
Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chairman of Nomas Enterprises and Rashid Al Rumaihi, managing director, Nomas Enterprises, were present at the signing ceremony. Rob Ruse, resident director and Nicholas Bailey, director - Design Studio represented Atkins at the event.
On signing the agreement, Shaikh Rashid said: "Atkins is our partner of choice as they have the knowledge and expertise on a local, regional and international level. Our aim is to have on offer, a development which is innovative, sophisticated, inspirational and engaging and this is exactly what Atkins is famous for worldwide. I am sure this partnership will yield great results."
Mr Ruse emphasised on the importance of the development by addng: "The project is a hugely significant project for Bahrain as a mixed-use hub where people can live, work and spend leisure time and as a catalyst for public life at the Al Fateh waterfront (Juffair)."
