The University College of Bahrain (UCB)_is about to begin its seventh year and has achieved a solid foundation for delivering quality education in a selection of specialist professional fields in accordance with the needs of the Gulf region.
UCB is a non-profit Business Management University which educates students and generates new knowledge to the regional community.
Its programmes excel in creativity, the intellectual dynamics of business and liberal arts; they are dedicated to quality education benchmarked against international standards and linked to the needs of the region.
UCB is accredited and licenced by the Ministry of Education and receives academic consulting support from the Regional External Programmes in the American University of Beirut in areas such as curricular design, policies and quality control.
It is also a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and has a Memorandum of Understanding established with the Dalhousie University in Canada, and the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
It has a beautiful campus which is continually expanding, a qualified international faculty body, a stimulating learning environment, modern sophisticated facilities - all of which are only some of UCB's special qualities!
More than 150 students from UCB_graduated at a ceremony held under the patronage of Dr Majid Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court was also present.
The Class of 2008 Graduation Ceremony was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in the Bahrain Conference Centre.
The students graduated with bachelor degrees (BSc) in Business Administration, Information Technology, Multi-Media and Communications; and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Banking & Finance, Islamic Finance, Information Technology, Management, and Marketing.
UCB is the only institution in Bahrain teaching Islamic finance as a Major in both undergraduate and graduate studies.
UCB's mission is to be regionally recognised for its specialist teaching and scholarship accomplishments in the areas of leadership and global management. They are focused on preparing leaders for a life-long learning experience who can operate in a global market.
