¥ The Ella Art Gallery in Hoora will hold a free teachers training course from July 9 to 15. A certificate will be provided by Fevicryl Hobby Ideas and the training will include techniques in the art of Abaya painting, glass painting, dimensional painting, fabric glue articles, fabric painting, silk painting and pottery work and others. ¥ DJ Fudge will be performing for a monthly residency with Defected in the House at Club Seven in the Mishal Hotel, Manama, on July 11. ¥ Ladies aged between 16 and 25 are invited to register for the 'July Rose 2008' competition on July 31.

All contestants will be offered 'personality development' classes including hair and make-up, fashion sense, catwalk, public speaking, talent development and photo and video shoot by grooming and event director Albert Gayo.

On the catwalk they will wear casual clothes, traditional outfits and gowns. There will also be a talent round.

New titles will be added this year including Nazih Hair, Make-up Award and People's Choice. On the day of the event, entertainment will include group dancing, singing and door prizes.

Doors open at 7pm and show starts 8pm, Entrance is BD3.800 which includes international buffet dinner.

¥ The Filipino Club, in cooperation with FC Sayaw Unlimited, under the patronage of the Philippine Embassy, is presenting the Maskara Fiesta Part Three on August 22. The event will feature Salsa and Latin dancing at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Manama. The event begins at 7pm and is BD10 per head. ¥ The Centrepoint Desert Symphony music concert will be held for the second consecutive year during Eid and is scheduled for October 2 at the Indian School grounds in Isa Town.

Award-winning Indian singer K S Chitra will perform alongside a male singer voted for by listeners of Voice FM 104.2.

Entrants will also have a chance to win DVD players from Emax, Muharraq, daily and a grand draw with a ticket to any destination in India as part of the promotion.

Tickets and VIP passes will be available in September.
