Wednesday (July 16) The summer career camp held by Career Expo at the Bahrain Training Institute ends tomorrow. Activities comprise of a number of workshops related to career guidance and counseling with a focus on necessary professional skills. Students can take personality tests and other diagnostics.

Career Expo 2008 will be held from October 21-23 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre and will welcome Bahraini secondary students, vocational students, jobseekers, parents, and the community at large.

Thursday (July 17)

Mazi Namvar is set to perform as part of the Brique Rouge summer residency at Level, located in the Club Seven complex in Mishal Hotel, Manama.

Friday (July 18)

Cricket Carnival 2008 will be held at the Awali Oval stadium. It will feature 12 players from Sri Lanka's national cricket team, including some of the players from the 1996 Cricket World Cup-winning team including Kumar Dharmasena, Russel Arnold, Avishka Gunewardena, Sajeewa De Silva, Gamini Wickremasinghe, Sujeewa Silva, Wendell Labrooy, Manoj Perera, Duncan Aronolda, Nilantha Bopage, Varuna Waragoda and Dushyantha Ekanayake.

There are a total of nine local teams participating in the tournament. These are the Bahrain Cricket League Team A, the Bahrain Cricket League Team B, the Awali Club Team A, the Awali Club Team B, Alfa Fire Bahrain, the Indian Club, the Sri Lankan Club, Alfa Fire UK and the Hattaon National Bank Colombo.

The event is open to the public and free of charge to attend. Entertainment will include magicians, face painters, a DJ as well as food and beverage outlets.

The carnival begins at 8am and the final match is expected to begin around 5pm.

Fans will have the chance to meet the stars from 4 to 4.45pm. From 6pm onwards an awards ceremony will take place and the winning team will be awarded prizes.

Saturday (July 19)

The Be Free Centre is offering workshops in Arabic to children from four to 14 until July 27. They can choose from up to three courses dealing with self protection, emotional intelligence and leadership skills and will include role playing, puppet theatre and other activities such as cooking, art and crafts and more. Sunday (July 20)

Things-To-Do in Budaiya is offering a series of art classes for adults as well as children over the age of seven until July 31.

Monday (July 21)

The Crowne Plaza hotel is offering its summer specials with themed nights. Saturdays will be Oriental Nights from 7pm priced at BD8.500++. Italian Nights on Sundays from 7pm will offer freshly cooked pasta and sauces complimented with the chef's favourite Italian dishes priced at BD8.500++. The RIA Centre in Adliya is holding a Sherlock Holmes Summer Camp for children aged two to10. It involves a variety of fun and learning activities some of which include "investigating". Tuesday (July 22)

The Funland Centre at the Marina beach is hosting a summer camp for children aged from seven and above. The camp is being held from 8am to noon from Saturday to Thursday until August 31.
