As our Olympic athletes prepare for their events, reporting live from Beijing, Deputy Chef de Mission and athletics technical manager, Lounes Maden said: "Everyone is feeling optimistic about what is to come and they are enjoying their stay in the Olympic Village.

"The accommodation is great and there are so many restaurants nearby.

"The athletes are training on a daily basis and are ready to compete in their events, especially in athletics where we are excepting to have good results insha'allah."

Bahraini swimmer Sameera Al Baytar is continuing her preparation for the 50 metre individual medley swimming competition with the supervision of instructor Zafer Bu Zaid.

Baytar is looking for a new record in her second participation at the Olympic Games, highlighting that her performance is similar to her competitors. She extended thanks to the general establishment for youth and sport, the Bahraini Olympic team and the swimming federation for their support.

Bahraini swimmer Omar Yusuf is also continuing his preparations for the 50 metre individual swimming medley.

He will be the first of Bahrain's Olympians in action with his heat taking place tomorrow.
