Gulf Weekly THE SEARCH IS ON FOR TWO V8 JUNIOR_AMBASSADORS

THE search is on for two young ambassadors to represent the kingdom at one of the major motor-racing events to be staged at the Bahrain International Circuit.

GulfWeekly and the BIC have teamed up to find a pair of eight-to-11-year-olds who would like the opportunity to meet the stars of the forthcoming Desert 400 V8 Supercars event, win super prizes, have loads of fun and represent Bahrain's young motorsport fans.

The V8 is not just a race it's a real family affair with the BIC playing host to the much-loved 'V8 kangaroos' alongside stunt cyclists, musicians, face painters and all manner of fun and games.

And since youngsters are so much a part of the action, GulfWeekly has teamed up with the home of motorsport in the Middle East to find two V8 Junior Ambassadors to help promote the race over the weekend of November 6, 7 and 8.

The lucky winners - who can be any nationality - will each be given five pairs of adult tickets so they can invite their pals along with their mums and dads for free.

The V8 Junior Ambassadors will also receive a BD50 BIC gift voucher and the opportunity to meet the star drivers.

They'll also see their participation recorded in a special report in GulfWeekly and receive a photographic memento of their memorable weekend.

For a chance to become one of the V8 Junior Ambassadors just send us an email telling us, in 100 words or less, why YOU are the young reader for the job.

Send your entry to editor@gulfweekly.com before October 16.

Your entry should include your name, date of birth, the name of your school and contact details for your parents including a phone number and/or email address.

The two most impressive entries will be selected as winners. The editor's decision is final and normal GulfWeekly competition rules apply.

Please note - children must be aged between eight and 11 and have parental permission to take part and should be prepared for some limited publicity activities, such as being photographed for GulfWeekly, prior to the V8 weekend.

V8 is a touring car championship, which has been held across Australia for more than 40 years and regularly draws television audiences of up to 22 million viewers.

It is tremendously exciting with the teams driving modified Holden (GM) and Ford touring cars going head to head, bumper to bumper and even, at times, door handle to door handle in the race for victory.

It's pedal-to-the-metal stuff with cars, and sometimes drivers, frequently spitting flames and, as this is the only race on the V8 calendar outside Australia, it's no surprise that it has grown in popularity in Bahrain over the last two years.

As well as the Desert 400 V8 Supercars event, the weekend will also see support races from the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, the Radical Cup and the Batelco 2000CC Challenge. Children go free and adult tickets are now on sale priced BD10. For more information, contact the BIC on 17450000 or visit bahraingp.com.
