Fox Movies is treating viewers to action packed Sundays this month by bringing six hours of non-stop, back to back, movie action and mayhem to your screens.

From 9pm start watching your favourite Hollywood heroes driving in high speed car chases, fighting for their lives or saving the planet from destruction - from the supernatural to the merciless, from aliens to bad cops to superheroes, everything you need for an action-packed evening to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Here's a couple of crackers that I recommend.

Gladiator - director Ridley Scott transforms Hollywood into ancient Rome in a historical epic starring Russell Crowe as Maximus, a Roman general who leads the troops in conquering Germania for the empire.

When his aging mentor, Emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) tells Maximus that wants him to take over the rule of Rome once he dies, trouble ensues between Maximus and the Emperor's son, the power-hungry, jealous and manipulative Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix).

Sold as a slave to the profiteering Proximo (Oliver Reed, in his last role), Maximus is forced to kill or be killed while fighting to save not just himself but the future of the empire he both loves and loathes.

The Transporter - Ex-Special Forces operative Frank Martin (Jason Statham) lives what appears from the outside to be a quiet life in the French Mediterranean.

In reality, he hires himself out as a no questions asked "transporter", moving goods - human or otherwise - from one place to another.

Carrying out these often dangerous errands, in his customised BMW, Frank works by a strict set of rules: Rule One - Never change the deal. Rule Two - No names. Rule Three - Never look in the package.

Rules that he never breaks until he's hired by an American, known simply as "Wall Street", to make a delivery.

When Frank makes a stop on his journey, he realises the packages he's transporting is moving.

Breaking rule number three he checks the package and discovers a beautiful young woman tied up inside. Frank's unwavering observance to the rules quickly crumbles, hurtling him and his new companion on a path that leads to shocking secrets, deadly obstacles and the startling discovery that rules are made to be broken.
