It will highlight the capital raising opportunities for Middle Eastern companies on the London Stock Exchange.

Bright Beginnings Day Care and Child Development Centre is introducing 'nanny training' sessions. The first four week course begins today. The sessions are aimed at nannies who are working with children between the ages of six months and five years. The objective of the training is to develop preliminary positive care-giving skills in nannies. The training will be lead by Victoria (trained nurse), Abrar Darwish (speech and language therapist) and Anisa Asad (child development specialist).
The sessions will be on health and safety, communicating with young children, play and the young child and managing challenging behaviour.

Artist Cheney Fairchild is running monthly workshops titled 'The Art House' for children this month.
Cheney has many years of experience working in the world of Art, currently exhibiting her latest sculpture and paintings at Lina's in the Diplomatic Area. Cheney has taught art and pottery to both adults and children in England and now looks forward to teaching through her workshops here in Bahrain.

Friday (Nov 7)
The Bharathi Association will host a Tamil comedy festival Asathappovathu Yaru at the Karnataka Social Club (KSC), in Manama. The event begins at 8.30pm and is free for all Tamil comedy fans.
The festival will feature Tamil comedians including stand-up comedy gurus Madurai Muthu, Madurai Marudu, Vadivelu Ganesan, Kovai Guna, Kovai Ramesh and Venkatesh. Also attending will be comedians Rara Prabhu and Michael Augustine alongside show's director Rajkumar.
Fans can enjoy a variety of comedy including mimicry, mime, skits, monologues and cinematic dance performances.
The show is the first of a string of events including literary, cultural and social service events, which have been chalked out by the association to take place later this year.
Doors open at 6pm and the curtain will rise at 6.30pm on November 7.

Opera singer Alicja Wegorzewska will perform at the La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Arts in Manama from 8pm.
Alicja initially studied the piano, but subsequently began her vocal studies in Gdarisk, and completed them at the Academy of Music in Warsaw.
Alicja's international career began in 1999 when she played the part of Dardane in Gluck's opera "Die Pilger von Mekka" at Vienna's Kammeroper.
She has performed with the Ensemble Modern from Frankfurt and Staatskapelle Berlin, and has appeared at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and Berlin's Konzerthaus.
She has also appeared in the Gala Finale concert of the Lutoslawski Awards at the National Philharmonic, performing the world premiere of the competition's prize-winning songs.
Her latest premieres include 'The Rape of Lucretia' (2008, title role) in the Baltic opera in Gdansk and Robert Wilson's 'Faust' production in National Opera.

The Lost Paradise of Dilmun, Al Areen, is granting free entry to all visitors under 1.2 m until the end of the 2008 season.
Paul Blunt, general manager of Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park said: "This is our way of thanking all the visitors who have frequented the Park throughout the year."
In addition to the free entry for visitors under 1.2m in height, the park is also introducing a Ladies Day for all female guests and children aged 10 and under.
Ladies Day will run for two Saturdays, November 8 and 22 from 10am to 5pm.
Entry for ladies over 1.2m in height is BD13.
The park is open from 10 am to 5 pm every day except Tuesdays and school and public holidays. Guests over 1.2m can enjoy the regular rate at BD13 while guests under 1.2m enter free.

Al Aali Shopping Complex in Seef is hosting a breast cancer awareness event until November 15. It is aimed at educating men and women on the disease that is one of the biggest killers, and to highlight that it is completely curable if detected in early stages.
The La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art in Manama is hosting a painting exhibition by Iraqi/Dutch artist Neidim Kufi. Neidim fled to the Netherlands to ply his art and life pursuits and still involved in his people's plight. The exhibition will be held until November 14.
