Watch out for it: Double bill on BBC Prime

Fans of British comedy are in for a treat this Saturday with a double bill of suburban women and saxondale from 3pm.

Suburban Shootout: In Little Stempington, the women don't to kill time - they kill each other, with anything from pistols to potato peelers, because this unremarkable town has secretly become more like the hoods of east LA than an average English suburb.

Beneath the facade of Women's Institute fundraisers, mid-morning yoga classes and the twice daily school run lies a secret super-sexed, super-violent world where industrial strength Viagra is shaved into husbands' suppers with fresh parmesan, and high doses of HRT are smuggled in from the continent.

These women mean business and if this involves 'terminating' a few local residents to get their next Botox fix then so be it. Think Desperate Housewives meets Kill Bill - only without the suntans or the samurais.

Saxondale: Tommy Saxondale has been through the rock and roll mill and lived to tell the tale. He plays fast and loose, shoots from the hip, and tells no lies - he's a true maverick. Tom never took the corporate dollar.

He doesn't work for 'the man'; he's his own man. These and other moth-eaten clichŽs are how Tommy would describe himself.

But when Tommy removes his rose-tinted Aviator shades, he can't deny a few basic facts; he was a middle-ranking roadie for 20 years, but for the past ten years he has been at the cutting edge of the pest control industry ... in Hertfordshire. After a hostile divorce, Tommy has found his soul mate in Magz, proprietress of an anarchic T-shirt shop. In the course of the series Tommy gets his eyesight improved by a prostitute, has a heart murmur in Halfords, executes a pigeon and experiments with women's make-up.
