Porsche Centre Bahrain (Behbehani Bros) participated in the Porsche Carrera Cup Challenge Asia 2008 that was held for the first time earlier this month at the Bahrain International Circuit by sponsoring Class-A lead driver Christian Jones.
Jones, who came into the season's final two races at the circuit with the championship lead, finished fifth overall and was also announced the new leader of the Driver Classification with 161 points. Jones, son of 1980 Formula 1 World Championship winner Alan Jones snatched the top spot on the leader board after finishing second in Round 10 in Shanghai last month.
"It's been an absolutely exhilarating experience being part of one of the world's renowned races. The eyes of motorsport fans around the world were focused on Bahrain as the country staged its first Porsche Carrera Cup Challenge Asia, and we at Porsche Centre Bahrain are proud to contribute to what can be termed as both an enormously successful event, and one which will put the spotlight firmly on our dynamic country," said Firas Barbir, business development manager of Porsche Centre Bahrain.
"Our involvement with motor racing will provide us with a definite advantage when it comes to the designing and management of various sporting events in the future," added Mr Barbir.
