What a great week; the weather has been glorious and one morning I even woke to the pitter patter of raindrops. Mother Nature gave the world a little wash and it seemed to simply sparkle afterwards as the sun came out and shone on the droplets.

It's also been another busy week as the 'silly season' really gets going. I was at the British Club on Friday and was lucky enough to work with Aussie songbird Lisa Morgan (who was performing as part of a duo with Steve the piano playing maestro). The occasion was the much anticipated annual DHL staff party. I came on a bit later and the very mixed crowd of many different nationalities danced the night away until the wee small hours.

Next morning it was down to 'Room 2 Rock' to film the stars of the future in the special segment of my Music TV show called 'Bahrain's Talent'. I chatted to the lovely Suskiya who originates from South Africa. It's her birthday during this coming week and she will be 'sweet 16'! Suskiya sang an Avril Lavigne number and performed excellently in front of the cameras.

Next up where five guys who call themselves 'Elephant Race'. I asked them how they got the name and I shouldn't have; because the answer I received was more confusing than anything I've ever heard. Watch out for them on Music Mania and you'll see for yourselves!

The last band up didn't have a name; so they hastily made one up on the spot. They are now officially called 'Nightrain' and they were a very interesting group comprising four guys and a girl lead singer. Band members Ness and Ben go to the British School, Ammar goes to the Indian School, Ali is from Ibn Khuldoon School and Ahmed is at the Naseem School. I think that is just so great! They meet up on Saturdays at 'Room 2 Rock' for their practice sessions and they sounded pretty good when they played their own composition 'Song No1'.

Later in the day I went to Sheriff (the director of Music Mania's) house, where we had to edit a few shows because of course I'll be on my holidays next week and needed to get some 'in the bag' as they say. My thanks to Sheriff's family for all the yummy cake I got while helping with the hard job of editing!

The day after was the DHL Festive Kids party; which was held this year at the Al Bander Resort. Due to restrictions on animals there, Father Christmas couldn't arrive on a camel like last year, or even bring his reindeer in. So he parked his sled in Manama and came on 'horse power' in a lovely red Porsche. We had great fun with the party games (although the musical bumps went on for rather a long time with my lovely helpers not being ruthless enough with the kids). But great fun was had by all. Speaking of the helpers; I would really like to thank Gabby, Paul, Basil the Snowman, Helen the Angel, Vicky as Mother Christmas and also all the cute little elves (and especially the one with the knobbly knees)!

We finished the party off with a dancing competition, which was pretty hard to judge as so many of the kids were such great movers. I decided to give away loads of prizes and everyone got into a truly festive spirit.

The next day we filmed three episodes of Music Mania at the Regency Intercontinental Hotel for the Eid transmission. (Boy I am organised these days). Well a bit, anyway! Thanks to Ryan for arranging the filming for us.

So what's on the rest of the week before my family and I fly out to Sri Lanka? Well, all will be revealed in next week's special article!
