TV personality Chris Beardshaw, Riffa Views Signature Estates' ambassador for gardens and landscapes, has arrived in Bahrain and is raring to judge the Riffa Views 2009 Eden Challenge entries.

He will head up a four-strong judging panel - alongside Shaikha Muneera bint Ahmed Al Khalifa, Matthew Rushton and Dr Zuhair Al Dallal - tasked with reviewing all the completed projects that were passed across at the Riffa Views International School on Monday, the closing date for entries.

Mr Beardshaw, above, is involved in numerous green-fingered topics through his gardening and landscaping TV programmes, books, lecture series, garden shows and landscaping designs but he reserves a special passion for interaction with school-children on all matters concerning the environment and said: "It's great to be back in Bahrain!"

Judging commences today as the judges consider all the entries and give each of them marks across five key elements - brief and purpose, overall impression, overall design, construction and impression and horticultural content.
