Wednesday (Jan 14) Film - Orange County on Fox Movies at 11pm.

High school senior Shaun Brumder finds out one day that there's more to life than surfing and sunning in California's Orange County. A friend's freak surfing accident causes Shaun to seriously reassess his life. As he does so, he finds, buried in the sand, a copy of Marcus Skinner's novel, Straight Jacket. By the time he's done reading the book, Shaun realises that his destiny is to become a writer. After hitting the books hard, raising his SAT scores and honing his skills as a writer, Shaun has high hopes of getting into Stanford University and studying with his literary hero.

THURSDAY (Jan 15)

Film - The Darjeeling Limited on Super Movies at 9pm.

A year after their father's death, three American brothers, Francis, Peter and Jack - who haven't spoken since the funeral - embark on a soul-searching journey across India on board the titular train. The brothers, who don't get along very well, use the time to get to know each other better and begin to ponder questions like why they don't like each other, and why their mother didn't attend the funeral. Francis reveals that their mother has entered a convent in India, and the real reason for organising the trip was to find her.

FRIDAY (Jan 16)

Film - Extraordinary Rendition on Xtra Movies at 7.30pm.

An innocent man is snatched from the streets of his home city and transported to an unknown destination, accused of terrorism. Held in a tiny cell with no access to legal representation, he is cut off from the outside world and advanced interrogation techniques are used to break him down. He is transported again to the searing heat of an unspecified locale where interrogation is replaced by sophisticated torture. There is nothing for him to hang onto and only a wife, who refuses to give up on him, can try to make a difference.

SATURDAY (Jan 17)

Film - Waitress on Super Movies at 9pm.

Jenna is a diner waitress stuck in a lousy marriage whose only solace is baking out-of-this-world pies. When the awkwardly charming new ob-gyn, Dr Pomatter, comes to town she's inspired to mix-master her life into something far more satisfying. As a favourite waitress at Joe's Diner, Jenna is also a 'pie genius', naming her tantalising confections after the tumultuous events and emotions of her daily life. She's hoping that one of her pastries, like her 'Kick In The Pants' pie, might even change her life - if she can just win that $25,000 pie contest.

SUNDAY (Jan 18)

Film - The Avengers on Fox Movies at 11pm.

Mrs Emma Peel and John Steed are spies who work for the secret branch of the British government called The Ministry. They are called in to investigate Prospero, a plot to blackmail Britain by controlling the weather. Emma Peel is suspected of being involved but it is discovered that she has a double who works for the real baddie, Sir August de Wynter who is threatening to freeze Britain, even going as far as unleashing a blizzard on Trafalgar Square.

MONDAY (Jan 19)

Film - Black Hawk Down on Fox Movies at 11pm.

The true story of the United States' involvement in Somalia during an ill-fated humanitarian mission. On October 3, 1993, US soldiers entered Somalia on an exercise that was supposed to take less than an hour. The mission turned into a nightlong battle against thousands of heavily armed Somalis. Eighteen US soldiers and more than 500 Somalis were killed as a result of this conflict.

TUESDAY (Jan 20)

Film - King Arthur on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

For centuries, most historians believed that King Arthur was only a legend, but that legend was based on a real hero whose actions changed the face of Britain forever. Arthur believes that only chaos and devastation will follow Rome's final pullout from Britain. Though he is desperate to return to Rome, his first loyalty is to his pagan knights. It's his duty to free them from their servitude to Rome so they may return to their ancestral homeland in Sarmatia.
