PARENTS looking for help and advice as well as the latest gadgets and accessories to make looking after children easier may find the answers at the kingdom's first show exclusively staged for them.

The Mother & Baby Show, organised by Bahrain-based MEEM and Lebanon-based Non Stop Promotions, will be held from February 25 to 28 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre in Sanabis.

The organisers hope to make the show 'the biggest consumer event dedicated to pregnancy, mothers-to-be, babies and toddlers in Bahrain'.

Marwan K Sarraf, general manager of Non-Stop Promotions, said: "The core objective of the show is to showcase the latest developments in products related to the upbringing of a child.

"Interactive and counseling sessions will also be staged for mothers on not just understanding the new products but also providing them with solutions and help to make life easier."

On show will be beauty and hygiene products, clothing for babies, toddlers and mothers, education/learning equipment, entertainment and feeding accessories alongside food, furniture and furnishings, gifts, toys, healthcare and insurance information, photography, prams and baby carriers, pregnancy and pregnancy counseling.

There will also be a play section for children where they can get involved in fun activities as their parents take a tour of the exhibition.

Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen, acting chief executive officer of Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority, said: "This is a great initiative and I am delighted at such a community-driven event. As a mother myself I feel that as wonderful a feeling it is, it is also daunting. Being a mother doesn't come with a manual. The show will be a sharing atmosphere for mothers and a great opportunity for them. I am giving it my full support - from the authority's part and as a mother."

The show will be inaugurated under the patronage of Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women.

Donations will be made for the benefits of mothers and children who have suffered in the Gaza crisis.
