The Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort, Al Areen is hosting a Cultural Day at the Banyan Tree Gallery to display a collection of traditional Bahraini arts and crafts.

Five ladies from the Al Kurar House in Muharraq showcased their skills on local embroidery on the first day of the exhibition.

Fine art of pottery making was also displayed with an array of clay and ceramic pots by local Ceramicist Ibrahim Al Amady.

Paintings and photo art now showcased including the works of Abbas Al Mousawi, Balqees Fakhroo, Jaffer Al Oraibi, Khalil Hammad and sculptor Khalid Farhan.

The major highlight of the exhibition is a set of 10 postcards called the 'Collection of Bahrain Art' that features paintings and photographs by Bahraini artists. Profits from of the sale of the postcards, priced at BD4, will support local charity initiatives.
