Wednesday (Mar 11) Film – Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star on Fox Movies at 9pm
Dickie Roberts (David Spade) is a 35-year old former child star. Now an out-of-work actor turned parking valet, Dickie is desperate to audition for a great role that could revitalise his career, but the part requires him to play a ‘normal’ guy. Problem is, Dickie is anything but normal. He decides to hire a family to adopt him so he can relive his childhood and, in essence, grow up from scratch.

Already emotionally devastated by the unexpected death of her husband, Kyle desperately struggles to prove her sanity to the disbelieving flight crew and passengers while facing the very real possibility that she may be losing her mind.

Reed Fish (Jay Baruchel) is living the life he was destined for. Following in the footsteps of his father, he hosts an early morning radio show and produces it with his old high school buddy. He’s also engaged to another old high school friend, town beauty Kate (Alexis Bledel). But when his high school sweetheart, Jill (Schuyler Fisk), returns unexpectedly, Reed’s stable life is turned upside down. Jill reveals to Reed that instead of studying at law school, she’s struggling to pursue a career in music. Reed inspires her to find her voice – leading to complications.

Peter Bowman, an American engineer in a Latin American country, is kidnapped for a $3 million ransom. Abandoned by her husband’s employer and insurance company, his wife Alice (Meg Ryan) refuses to give up his life. She takes on the task of bringing him home but quickly realises she can’t do that without help. An expert in ‘K&R’ (Kidnap & Ransom), Terry Thorne (Russell Crow) is Alice’s best and only hope for saving Peter. He takes on the job, but soon finds it to be trickier than anyone thought. Throughout the lengthy negotiations, Alice and Terry develop a mutual attraction as they barter for Peter’s life. With the help of a fellow negotiator and a trio of highly trained mercenaries, Terry takes on a do-or-die rescue operation.
SUNDAY (Mar 15)
Film – Planet of the Apes on Star Movies at 8.30pm.
In the year 2029, astronaut Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) crash lands on a strange, savage planet ruled by apes that have enslaved the human race. Led by the brutal General Thade (Tim Roth), the apes seek to destroy Davidson, whose presence threatens to inspire a human rebellion. Aided by a sympathetic chimpanzee, human-rights activist (Helena Bonham-Carter) and a small group of human rebels, Davidson races through ‘The Forbidden Zone’, where an ancient temple holds the key to mankind’s salvation.
MONDAY (Mar 16)
Film – Code Name: The Cleaner on Star Movies at 8.30pm.
This family-friendly comedy casts Cedric the Entertainer as the anti-James Bond. Jake Rodgers (Cedric the Entertainer) wakes up next to a dead FBI agent and a briefcase full of money, but has no memory of who he is. Trying to piece together his past, Jake learns that he may be a secret agent who holds a valuable secret. The mystery deepens after a blonde bombshell (Nicollette Sheridan) claims to be his wife and another woman (Lucy Liu) insists she is his girlfriend.
TUESDAY (Mar 17)
Film – The Mothman Prophecies on Fox Movies at 11pm.
When John Klein (Richard Gere), a journalist, and his wife Mary find the dream house they have been hunting for, life could hardly get better. Then on their joyful ride home the dream is shattered when Mary crashes the car and is killed. While removing Mary’s possessions from the hospital, John discovers a sketchpad covered with odd drawings, variations of the same eerie apparition. One night, while driving from Washington, John loses his way and ends up in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, 400 miles from where he thought he was.
