Junaid for Perfumes launched its new fragrance for men with the backdrop of cars speeding around the track at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, writes SHILPA CHANDRAN.

Company officials describe the new perfume as a 'unique western concept and a lifestyle perfume that activates the robust nature of the modern man'.

Hamad Fuad, sales and marketing director at Junaid for Perfumes, said: "Our new creation is a masculine fragrance that defines an independent, active and dynamic personality and is a testimony of the fashion conscious.

"The launch of Ibdaa marks the beginning of the introduction of a range of summer fragrances that have been lined-up for the season.

"Further products are inevitable to keep up with market trends and consumer demands and we have already begun working on a new product line-up for this year.

"Despite the current market scenario, our expansion plans are proceeding as scheduled and our inputs and efforts have multiplied two-fold enabling us to keep pace with the competition."

Atif Ikram, brand manager, said: "The recession has affected everyone badly the world over. We, however, see this as an opportunity.

"With the slowdown in the economy everyone is looking for good products with value for money and that is what we are offering."

Ibdaa, which means creativity, is a blend of fresh orange blossom with the calmness of lavender and peach and enhanced with a spicy touch of cedar wood.

The price for a 100ml bottle of perfume spray is BD12 and is available at all the company's retail stores on the island and outside.

The Bahrain-based company Syed Junaid Alam has been offering a range of perfumes and perfumery accessories for both men and women since its establishment in 1910.

Junaid for Perfumes today operates in more than 120 outlets across the world including 14 on the island. The brand has branches in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Turkey.
