The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa is hosting a new dining experience 'Tropical Night' from today at the poolside. The venue will be colorfully lit up and decorated according to the theme with floating lights, tropical refreshment counters, an enticing buffet with live cooking stations and a dessert corner on the pool island. Special performances by a Caribbean band and limbo dancers will provide the authentic tropical night atmosphere, inviting guests to dance.The special events will be once a month from March to May from 6pm to midnight and is priced at BD19 person.

Friday (March 27)

SJ Media Group in association with Al Rashid Group will be hosting the second annual Shoe Mart Walkathon at Amwaj Islands.

The non-profit event aims to help raise money for Bahrain Mobility International Centre. People from different backgrounds, cultures and ages are encouraged to get involved in this charity walk which will be divided into two routes, one of 3km and one of 5km. The day ends with a carnival which will include games and entertaining activities for children and families. There will also be a live band, clowns and other performers. Registration starts at 8.30am and the day ends at 5pm with a light breakfast from 9am. The Walkathon begins at 9am or 9.30am depending on arrivals.

The Royal Thai Embassy is hosting a traditional Thai dance and music event at the Cultural Hall, Bahrain National Museum, Manama at 6pm. entrance is free and seats are limited. For details contact the embassy on 17274142 or 17246242.

St Christopher's School, Saar will host a concert at 4pm at the infant hall aimed at school age children and lasting around 45 minutes. This will be the first of the school's mini series of concerts and will be performed by Polished Brass and Friends. Polished Brass are a quartet of brass instrument players who live and rehearse in Bahrain and have offered to perform for the School. Elham Bahrain will have an evening of photography, art, video and verse inspired by nature at the Al Dar Islands. Participants include Khalid Khazal, Carla Sailba, Fardan Raffii, Anish Verghese, Nader, Ameeruddin, Nayla Fokeladeh, Fatima Al Saad amongst others. The boat ride to the island costs BD2 and the ten-minute ride will be from the Sitra Wharf. A valid ID is essential.

My Father's House Exhibition to be held at the Beit Al Quran will be open to the public until April 20. The exhibition's associated events include a Visiting Photographers' Talk by the six exhibiting photographers today at 11am at the Beit Al Quran. A Local Photography Workshop will be held tomorrow and Tuesday at the Al Riwaq Gallery, A'ali Mall, Seef.

A Photographic Treasure Hunt will be held on April 11 at 10am at the Beit Al Quran. Registration is required. A Regional Photography Workshop for women led by Hazel Thompson will be held from April 19 to 22 at the Al Riwaq Gallery where one suitable candidate selected from the British Council office in various Gulf countries and Yemen will take part.
