Title: Life is Rhythm by Camut Band

Venue: Culture Hall

In Life is Rhythm the Camut Band mixes African percussion, tap dance, voice and sand dance. For more than an hour, six performers play with their roles, exchange their abilities and mix their rhythms to achieve a surprising performance which is original, fresh and full of energy.

The evening begins with a contemporary painting exhibition by two artists from China, Chen Xinmao and Rolf Kluenter which is followed by an hour of contemporary Indian dance in which the young dancers represent some of the best progressive and innovative movement arts of India. Their dance draws influences from Bharatnatyam and Kathak to Kalaripayattu, Tae-Kwon-Do and modern dance to craft uplifting artistic entertainment that has captivated audiences across the globe. www.artscenechina.com

Title: 'Cookin' by Nanta Theatre

Venue: Arad Fort

Time: 7 pm

Nanta has been one of the most popular shows in Korea ever since it premiered in October 1997, drawing the largest number of spectators in the history of Korean stage. Nanta made its international debut in 1999 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it received an award for the best performance. Since then, it has been staged on Broadway, at Disney Land and in theatres all over the world. It is a nonverbal performance integrating traditional Korean 'Samulnori' rhythm with comedy and drama that takes place in the kitchen.

Moroccan feminist writer and sociologist Fatima Mernissi is largely concerned with Islam and women's roles in it, analyzing the historical development of Islamic thought and its modern manifestation. In 2003, Mernissi was awarded the Prince of Asturias Award.

Title: Piano recital by Abdul Rahman El-Bacha

Venue: Culture Hall

Time: 8pm

El Bacha's performances consistently capture tension of line, even when the score is quietly tender. The line of interest is omnipresent as he delves into the essentials without slipping over into mere piano playing which he has demonstrated with recitals and orchestral appearances around western Europe.
