Paintings, sculptures and photographs by seven leading Bahraini artists and four resident German artists will be on display at this exhibition which has been created by artists who have been influenced by the orient and the occident.

German Ambassador Dr Hubert Lang, wrote in the catalogue: 'The title of the exhibition, b i l A t e R a l r e l a T i o n s, is sending out an art-anagram-signal regarding the reference of its framework in which culture in all its forms and functions holds an important place, equal to any other aspect of the German-Bahraini relationship.

'Fine Arts in all its expressions- painting, sculpting, photography - presented here as a forum of encounter, is a tested medium in order to chase away established clichŽs of mutual perception.'

Participating artists are painters: Adnan Achmed, Faika Al Hassan and Jaffar Al Oraibi from Bahrain and Marion Labani and Monika Al Fehaid from Germany; sculptors: Ali Al Mahmeed, Fuad Albinfalah and Khalil Hashimi from Bahrain and photographers: Khalil Hammad from Bahrain and Manfred Erber and Steffi de Vos from Germany.

The Exhibition, organised by ART lounge, the Ministry of Information and Culture, the Economic Development Board, the Bahrain Arts Society and the German Embassy, will be open from April 16 to 25 at the Art Hall, National Museum Bahrain.
