The international boss of Dairy Queen paid a flying visit to the island to meet officials of Jawad Business Group which holds the company's franchise for Bahrain and much of the region as well as India.
President and CEO of International Dairy Queen, Inc (IDQ) John Gainor, accompanied by chief operating officer Jean W Champagne, paid tribute to the good working relationship between between the two organisations which have a history of nearly 28 years.
He said: "We are very proud of our relationship with Jawad. It has been instrumental in developing the DQ brand in Bahrain as well as the Middle East, which is one of our strongest international food markets."
Trophies were also awarded to seven Dairy Queen outlets on the island.
The company was the first international quality restaurant to set up franchises in Bahrain, as well as the first restaurant to start operations as a franchise from the US.
DQ Grill & Chill will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year, originally started as an ice cream parlour serving popular soft serve desserts which then expanded into a number of hot eats including burgers, chicken strips and various Tex-Mex inspired dishes
