CINEMA chiefs in the kingdom are all set for an onslaught of Pottermania as they ready themselves for a rush of fans when the latest instalment opens tonight.
The advertising hoardings promoting the much-anticipated worldwide release are now on display and Bahrain Cinema Company chief operating officer Sunil Balan is confident Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince will be as huge a summer hit and big box office attraction as its predecessors.
"Harry Potter is a big budget movie and it is going to be a huge success with the audience," he predicted. "I am sure that it is going to run in the cinemas for weeks."
Mr Balan said the films, adapted from J K Rowling's staggeringly successful books about a boy wizard growing up with a mission to tackle the evil force which killed his parents, have proved to be a magnet for film-goers of all ages.
"A lot of people have been waiting for this movie, so I am sure that the cinemas will be full," he added. "It will be screened from tonight on our late night show and tomorrow at different timings in Seef II Cinema, Saar Cineplex and Al Jazeera Cineplex."
