Dear Stan,Following the article 'Allergy fright for diner', published in last week's GulfWeekly regarding an allergen incident, the management of Sheraton Bahrain would like to clarify that the investigation was concluded on July 2, after the hotel had provided the guest with the list of all ingredients utilised in the preparation of the food items consumed by her.
The list of ingredients does not include any type of nuts or nut oil.
The safety, security and well-being of all guests, visitors and associates are taken most seriously by the Sheraton Bahrain.
The hotel has an allergen policy and provides regular training to all food handlers on understanding and identifying allergens and handling related guest requests.
Food menus are labelled to identify foods that may contain allergens such as nuts, gluten, shell fish.
We thank you for your understanding.

Area PR manager,

Dear Stan,
With reference to the 'Allergy fright for diner' report in last week's GulfWeekly.
Just to let you know I have received a call from Starwood Hotels. While I would not say the matter is closed, as I still do not know what caused my reaction, they have offered me a goodwill gesture which I have accepted.
This was only sorted out after my conversations with your reporter.
Faye Williamson,
London.
Dear Stan,
I find it hard to find the words to thank you for publishing my son Roshan Rahamathullah's sixth birthday snap in GulfWeekly's Social Scene section, he was so excited! The paper has become a souvenir for us!
Shanthini,
By email.
Dear Stan,
I write with reference to the article in a recent edition of GulfWeekly 'Federer on collision course with Murray'.
Vijay Mruthyunjaya stated that the last time an Englishman lifted the Wimbledon crown men still played in trousers...' and without wishing to sound pedantic, I must correct you.
Andy Murray is not an Englishman! He is a Scotsman and the Scots do not like to be referred to as English.
You could have said the last time a British man ... then that would have been correct, but an Englishman, when referring to Murray, is a definite no, no.
However, I'm sure everyone will understand what you meant but just thought I'd point it out.
Abigail Navarre,
By email.
Editor's note: It's unlikely an Englishman, let alone a Scot for that matter, will ever win Wimbledon again.
Dear Stan,
I must say that your photographer Jayson De Leon is great! He is so amiable and has the knack of getting into the mood of the occasion! He must be an asset. Please convey my compliments to him.
Leila Rajkumar, PR manager,
The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Bahrain.
