On the occasion of Audi's 100th birthday, Audi Centre Bahrain has invited its clientele, Audi fans and customers to a small birthday celebration at the Audi showroom in Sitra.
The breakfast reception starting at 9am tomorrow will commence as thousands of dealerships and the Audi factories around the world celebrate the special day.
Additionally, with courtesy of Audi Centre Bahrain, the first 100 customers of the Starbucks coffee shops in Bahrain Financial Harbour, Manama Centre and Park Place Diplomatic Centre will also be treated not only to a free coffee, but also to a birthday gift.
One hundred years ago, on July 16, 1909, the Audi brand was founded by August Horch, who believed in the power of the automobile. Over the following decades he and his engineers enjoyed the challenge, tried the unimaginable and in the process developed groundbreaking technologies and many unforgettable Audis along the way. Examples of this are the mid-engine in 1934, the Streamliner speed record of 400 km/h in 1937 and the aerodynamics world record in 1982.
The Audi name claimed worldwide fame with legendary rally successes with the Audi Quattro during the 1980s and racing legends such as Michele Mouton and Walter Roehrl.
The introduction of galvanisation, the turbo diesel engine TDI and the Audi Space Frame were developed though motorsport successes in the Trans Am, touring car racing, and of course the 24 hours of Le Mans.
The experience, passion and fun of the last 100 years is now found in every button and every part of every Audi, making Audi one of the most successful premium car manufacturers in the world.
