Six years after it was last broadcasted Tic Tac Toe is back once again this Ramadan on Channel 55.
The popular programme, which was a hit in 2001 through to 2003, has gone through some changes.
Rather than have nine boxes to be filled by either Xs or Os to form a straight line, the grid now contains 25 boxes and uses colours to distinguish the contestants' straight lines achieved by forming three boxes of the same colour in a row.
Each episode will comprise two sets of contestants. Winners will go home with $400 each with the possibility of rejoining the show at a later stage.
One thing that has not changed is the presenter Hisham Abu Alfateh. "I enjoy presenting this show because it's different than any other," said Hisham. "Tic Tac Toe '09 is not about winning; it's pure entertainment as I challenge people's general knowledge. Trust me it's not as easy as it might seem. Even though all questions are of multiple choice nature, I have made sure they are competitive enough to drain the contestants' brains.
"Moreover, we've made it more exciting: questions are transferable, meaning that if one contestant answers wrong then his competitor has an easier chance of going in front."
Contestants will be randomly selected by the computer as they send their participation SMS to 95324 (Batelco users) or 88463 (Zain users) containing their name and age (16 years and above). People can also prepare multiple choice general knowledge questions and e-mail them to hisham.fateh@gmail.com. Participants will be recognised on the show.
People watching at home also have the opportunity to win $200 by answering the daily SMS question. The SMS questions, which will be prompted every night on the show, will be repeated during the day on Channel 55 as well as mentioned on Radio Bahrain 96.5FM. Answers must be sent to 95326 (Batelco users) or 88464 (Zain users).
Tic Tac Toe '09 will be aired in Ramadan every night on Channel 55 from 9pm to 10pm.
