Wednesday (Sept 23)Film - Mrs Doubtfire on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) is a struggling actor and irresponsible father. When he throws a disastrous surprise birthday party for his son, everything takes a turn for the worse. Daniel's wife, Miranda (Sally Field), wants a divorce. When the divorce hearings arrive, Daniel is denied custody of the children and is only granted weekly visitations. With help from his make-up artist brother Frank (Harvey Fierstein), Daniel disguises himself as "Mrs Doubtfire" and charms his way back into the family.

THURSDAY (Sept 24)

Based on a true story. An American geologist (Bruce Greenwood) flies to Antarctica to participate in a project at the United States Research Base, where he teams up with arctic guide Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker) and his best friend, Cooper (Jason Biggs). The scientist soon discovers that Shepard also has eight other valuable friends - a pack of sled dogs. As the three men explore a frozen mountain region, an unexpected accident coupled with a massive storm force them to fly to safety, leaving the dogs behind.

Documentary - Taboo: Body Extremes on NGC at 6pm.

The range and diversity of human behaviour almost defies the imagination. Taboo delves into the strange and sometimes disturbing practices of cultures around the world. In most societies, the human body is sacred. But sometimes, it can be ritually abused. Some human practices are so extreme they cause disgust not just between cultures, but within them. Ingesting bodily wastes, forming an unnatural bond with animals, or selling a vital body organ, violate the sanctity of the human body. For most people, these practices are not just extreme - they are taboo.

SATURDAY (Sept 26)

Film - The Fly on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

In this horror masterpiece, Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) is a brilliant but eccentric scientist researching the field of matter transportation. Using a 'telepod' he created, he has proved it is possible to transfer matter through space using inanimate objects and live animals. When Seth tries to impress the beautiful investigative reporter Veronica Quaife (Geena Davis) with his amazing discovery, he decides to try and transmit himself. But as he attempts to teleport himself, a fly enters one of the transmission booths, causing some surprising and horrifying changes to Seth.

SUNDAY (Sept 27)

Film - Training Day on Fox Movies at 1am.

Everyday there is a war being waged on America's inner city streets, a war between residents, drug dealers and the people. This war has its casualties, none greater than L.A.P.D. Detective Sergeant Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington), a 13-year veteran narcotics officer whose questionable methodology blurs the line between legality and corruption. This crime tale shadows Alonzo as he tests the resolve of rookie Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke), who has one day only to prove himself to his fiercely charismatic superior.

MONDAY (Sept 28)

Film - Basic Instinct II on Fox Movies at 11pm.

After re-locating from San Francisco to London, best-selling crime novelist Catherine Trammell (Sharon Stone) once again finds herself on the wrong side of the law. Dr Michael Glass (David Morrissey), a respected London criminal psychiatrist, is brought in by Scotland Yard detective Roy Washburn to perform a psychiatrist profile and evaluation of Tramell following the mysterious death of a top sports star. Physically drawn to Tramell, Glass is quickly sucked into her web of lies and seduction. A battle of wits ensues, climaxing as Glass faces a choice that will change both their lives forever.

Film - Erin Brockovich on Fox Movies

Based on the true story of a twice-divorced mother working as a low-level secretary at a Los Angeles law firm, a chronicle of a woman, without a law degree, who takes it upon herself to fight powerful corporate forces. Hired out of sympathy, Brockovich stumbles upon a cover-up involving contaminated water in a small desert community. She tracks a case of water poisoning created by PG&E and champions it all the way up the judicial ladder.
