The British public didn't care much for Martina Hingis' dancing skills. The five-time Grand Slam winner was the first celebrity to be lobbed out of the new series of BBC reality talent show Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday.

After coming in the bottom two when phone votes were added to the judges score, Hingis lost a dance-off with her dance partner Matthew Cutler against policeman-turned-crime-presenter Rav Wilding and his partner Aliona Vilani.

"It was a great experience, I learned so much," she said. "Maybe I will come back for a few more lessons to London."

Hingis retired from tennis after getting a two-year ban in 2007 for testing positive for cocaine.
