The Bahrain Caledonian Society will host the 'Chieftain's Gathering' at the Rugby Club poolside. The event will feature light food and selected complimentary drinks and also the opportunity for the new chieftain to outline the society's plans for the coming year. Saturday (October 10)
The 18th Bahrain International Music Festival (BIMF) opens today and runs until October 16. Seven regional and international artists will perform throughout the week featuring a vast array of musical traditions including European classical, Arabic instrumentation, Latin music and fusion mixes from different continents. Performing artists include Simon Shaheen from US, Camerata Ducale from Italy, Jahida Wehbe from Syria, Rodolfo Mederos from Argentina, Le Trio Joubran from Palestine, Duo Scaramouche from France and Katia Guerreiro from Portugal.
The performances will start at 8pm at the Cultural Hall adjacent to the Bahrain National Museum. Entrance is free.
