La Perle restaurant in the Novotel Al Dana Resort in Manama is a favourite haunt for seafood connoisseurs and it will soon be getting a new look with plans for a refurbishment on the cards.
The interior design may change but the management insists the food will remain as fresh and tasty as ever.
Its seafood buffet is particularly popular with diners across the kingdom and is back on the menu by public demand. Executive Chef Martial Diffor said: "We tried to introduce a fine-dining theme 'Fusion Cuisine' for the restaurant a while ago but due to popular demand we have brought back the seafood buffet.
"It now features a live sushi cooking station as well as a Mongolian station every Thursday and Friday."
The buffet consists of hot and cold dishes and customers can also choose their own fish from an array of seafood kept on display.
Assisting Chef Martial is Head Chef of La Perle and Sous Chef of the hotel, Yousef Iqleim who comes to the island with nine years of experience having worked in England and Jordan.
Chef Yousef specialises in international cooking and has been with Novotel Al Dana Resort for 10 months. During Ramadan, he was involved in a 32-episode cooking show on Bahrain TV.
Aside from the seafood delights, the hotel is also offering an 'Oriental night' every Thursday at Zytoun and steak nights with 'dinner-under-the stars' on Wednesdays at the pool side.
During Christmas and New Year celebrations La Perle will be offering a seven-course set menu. For details contact 17298008.
