Aidan McNulty and Emma Boyd were crowned the Royal Golf Club's first club champions after their wins in the final match play event held on the club's Montgomerie championship course.

In the final round of the Titleist-sponsored Club Championships, McNulty took on Mark McNeilly in the Gents flight A and Boyd competed against Soy Butler for the Ladies flight A.

McNulty claimed his victory on the last hole after McNeilly's ball found the bunker. The eventual winner, who was 4up after nine holes, breathed a sigh of relief when McNeilly finally conceded the last hole.

The finish in the ladies flight A wasn't quite as tight for Boyd who had a 5&4 victory over Butler.

The gent's flight B final was even more closely contested than flight A. Ilya Goniker and Madden Broadbent battled it out over 21 holes with Broadbent taking the third extra hole for a 1up victory.

In the ladies flight B, Evelyn Hug secured a win against Hanne Hansen on the last hole after the latter had come back from a 2-hole deficit.
