THE_Bahrain Bayan School Parents and Teachers Association, in collaboration with the school administration, organised an educational seminar on the H1N1 swine flu virus.
It was attended by parents, faculty members, board of directors, and a group of parents of students who attend Ibn Khuldoon and Al Nassem schools in a show of co-operation and communication between educational establishments.
The lecture was given by Dr Tariq Al Moosawi, an infectious diseases and intensive care unit consultant, vice-president of the intensive care unit and head of the swine flu (H1N1) treatment programme at Saad Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
It included useful information on how to prevent the spread of the virus in addition to answering questions from the audience about the safety of the currently available vaccine.
The guests praised the PTA's initiative. The director of the Bahrain Bayan School, Dr Nakhleh Wehbeh, added: "The concern of the school's administration and the PTA in establishing co-operation and partnership between schools and parents, stems from the desire of everyone to achieve the best when it comes to health awareness which will primarily reflect positively on the students."
