Yateem Optician, pioneers of optical services in the Gulf, is celebrating its centenary this year.
Established in 1910 by the late Ali Ahmed Yateem, the outlet located in the heart of Manama, today boasts 14 branches across the island and more than 70 in the GCC.
His son, Abdullah Ali Yateem, now company chairman, proved a backbone to the company's growth by importing prescription glasses from Europe and catering to the needs of the local population.
His children are now directors in the ever-expanding business empire. Yateem Optician now caters to a wide variety of customers through their ultra modern retail outlets located at prime locations throughout the GCC.
As part of its centenary celebrations, the group is offering new state-of-the-art products and services alongside a range of exclusive designer brands.
Latest products include - The innovative '1 Day Acuvue TruEye' daily disposable contact lens from Johnson & Johnson, Future X G2 ophthalmic lenses and NASA-approved high-tech titanium frames from the Austrian brand Silhouette.
The company has also expanded to provide hearing aid services and products.
Yateem Optician are the distributors of Police, Silhouette, Chanel, Versace, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Bvlgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, St. Dupont, Giorgio Armani, Oakley, Guess and Mont Blanc frames and sunglasses as well as other leading designer labels.
