The expat league staged two more thrilling and fast-paced matches at the British School in Hamala including the GulfWeekly-backed competition's first scoreless encounter.

An explosive clash between the Rugby Club and AC Jurassics was amongst the 'the best games the league has witnessed thus far', according to league chairman and British School captain, Paul Millington.

"Despite the 0-0 score line, this was blood and thunder stuff!" he said. "Commitment, passion and, at times, over-zealous tackling all added to the flavour."

Both sides played attacking football throughout and chances were aplenty with both goalkeepers making outstanding saves to keep their sides in the game. One or two hefty challenges resulted in a number of early yellow cards and this only served to heighten the tension and passion with the crowd making their feelings known from the sidelines.

The second half witnessed the league's second red card. Adil, from the Rugby Club, received his marching orders after a 'disagreement' with the referee. The pace of the game never slowed and by the final whistle both teams were satisfied to have come away with a hard fought point apiece.

The night's second match involved league leaders Wahooo! against wooden spoon favourites, the British School. The school representatives battled away gamely but found themselves up against a well-organised and skillful Wahooo! team who showed their class throughout, scoring three times in each half for a comprehensive 6-0 victory.

Chris Tricker scored three goals, including a superb back post header from a Dave Ellison cross, his second goal was from close in having rounded the keeper and his third was a decent finish after a mazy run.

Ellison bagged a brace of special goals - the first a thunderbolt free kick from 20 yards and the second after a good run and shooting into the bottom corner. Tom McMenamin completed the scoring with a cool finish to end a great night for the lifeguards.
