Top positions in Gulf Air for Bahrainis

Three senior Gulf Air officials - senior director technical Martyn Anderson, director training Captain Chris Ranganathan and director customer services Ruth Birkin - have resigned from the national carrier to pursue their professional interests elsewhere.

Chief Executive Officer Samer Majali accepted their resignations and thanked them for their valuable contributions to the company and exemplary discharge of their duties.

Subsequently, the Gulf Air management appointed Bahrainis Jamal Hashim to the position of technical quality assurance director and Ahmed Shareef Moosa as maintenance director to look after the airline's technical and maintenance responsibilities.

Mr Hashim, an aeronautical engineer by profession and a member of the International Federation of Airworthiness (IFA) has 27 years experience in the industry of which the last 23 years is with Gulf Air working in almost every department of the airline's technical functions that include quality assurance, safety management, airworthiness, project management and aircraft maintenance in addition to his managerial experience with a high degree of technical and regulatory awareness.

Mr Moosa is an avionics engineer with more than 23 years experience with Gulf Air. He has worked in almost all aspects of aircraft maintenance besides being a project manager. He also spent four and half year as Gulf Air senior technical representative at Airbus facility in Toulouse, France.

Mr Majali congratulated them and wished them success.
