Al Hilal Hospital in Muharraq recently celebrated 250,000 patient visits and the treatment of 100,000 people since its opening with a special VIP gathering.
Minister of Health Dr Faisal Al Hamer visited the premises and unveiled a plaque to honour the hospital's achievements.
He was given a tour of the 48-bed, multi-specialty healthcare facility and met with doctors and other staff members as well as exchanging greetings with patients.
Dr Al Hamer said: "I am satisfied with the quality service provided by the doctors and staff of the hospital and I wish them all the best for the future."
Other dignitaries present at the celebration included Ministry of Health officials Dr Mariam Al Jalahma and Dr Aziz Yousif Hamza, Dr George Joseph, Indian ambassador to Bahrain, officials of the Shura Council and Municipal Coun cil as well as dignitaries and community leaders.
Abdulnabi Alsho'ala, chairman of Alfanar Investment Holding Company - the hospital's parent company, expressed his gratitude to the minister for visiting the hospital, which opened in December 2006.
The hospital is also equipped with an accident and emergency wing providing a 24-hour service, an intensive care unit, two operation theatres, recovery rooms, a labour theatre and baby care unit, a minor operation theatre, X-ray and ultrasound unit, a 24-hour laboratory unit and a pharmacy.

The hospital has achieved notable successes in the field of medical excellence.
Dr Mazen Al Hajiri, Al Hilal Hospital's consultant ENT surgeon has treated 17 children with cochlear implants for correction of congenital hearing impairments.
Dr Mohammed Salim, the hospital's consultant general surgeon, recently performed complicated life-saving surgery on a 43-year-old expatriate patient.
He performed colon surgery on the patient, who suffered from strangulation of the large intestine, a life-threatening condition that required urgent treatment.
Doctors at the hospital have also achieved another milestone by performing voice correction surgery on a young patient to correct the pitch of her voice.
CEO Dr Sai Giridhar said: "Al Hilal Hospital's mission is to restore, maintain and enhance health by providing superior care, now and into the future."
The hospital aims to bring in cardiology services for diagnosis and management of cardiac diseases, and a CT scan will be introduced by next month.
A full-fledged maternity service will also be launched, complete with delivery, C section, post natal and neonatal services.
