Wednesday (April 7)The Elham art society is hosting an 'Open Mic Night' at the Veranda CafŽ in Amwaj Islands featuring live music, poetry recital and other art and entertainment acts. This event is open for all and starts at 7.30pm until 9.30pm.

'Armenia: a journey through art' exhibition opens today featuring five Armenian artists - Mguerditch Mazmanian, Vahram Davtyan, Gabriel Manukyan, Teni Vardanian and Vahan Roumelian at the Art Centre next to the Bahrain National Museum. An exhibition 'Abstraction Through Colours' will be showcased by Ella Prakash at the Ella Art Gallery in Hoora from April 8 to 18 from 10am to noon and from 3pm to 6.30pm. Samskara Thrissur will conduct an 'Annual Family Get Together' at Palace Hotel, Um Al Hassam, followed by various cultural programmes.

A collective exhibition 'Taqaseem' ends today at the Bahrain Contemporary Arts Society in Juffair. The exhibition features four Bahraini artists - Mohammad Al Mahdi, Admed Annan, Jehan Saleh and Sayed Hassan Al Sari. For details contact 39069016.

A variety of home interior products from Thailand, Bali, Singapore, China, South America and the Netherlands are being showcased at a charity exhibition at the Al A'ali Shopping Complex. It is being held in support of the Al Rahma Centre in Riffa. Items include furniture, rocks, rugs, shells, ceramic vases, bowls, pot plants, paintings and other accessories. November Paynter in collaboration with the Al Riwaq Space Gallery is hosting an exhibition showcasing the works of a number of artists including Can Altay, Fayal Baghriche, Osman Bozkurt, Shezad Dawood, Mounir Fatmi, Mariam Haji, Basim Magdy, Randa Mirza, Mohamed, Huma Mulji, Rana El Nemr, Fahrettin …renli, GŸclŸ …ztekin, Mounira Al Solh, Miha Strukelj; with video screenings by artists including Kšken Ergun, Ciprian Muresan, Wael Shawky and Erzen Shkololli. Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya opens a solo exhibition entitled 'Mind Practices' by Moroccan Hakim Ghazali at 7pm. The show will continue until April 30. The exhibition will feature 21 artworks that represent through collages, symbols and colours the artist's spirit in the instant.

Hakim has participated in numerous collective exhibitions and biennials in France, Italy, Bangladesh, Dubai, and Syria. He was part of many of the auctions including Bonham's auction in 2008 and Christies' auctions in 2007 and 2008.
